Why Lipton's new tea blend is a complete game-changer

Good news for those avoiding lactose or dairy - Lipton have launched a brand new tea designed specifically for dairy-free milk!

Aussies sure do love a cuppa, with research suggesting we down 9.5 cups of tea each week! For those with dietary or ethical requirements, a new product on the market is improving the taste experience and adapting to the rise in popularity of soy, almond, oat and lactose-free milks.

Dietitian Rebecca Gawthorne says, “Whilst there has been a rise in the availability of plant-based foods, not all dairy-free alternatives are compatible with other products as intended.

“If you’re a tea lover like me, you’ll know that when you add dairy-free milk to tea, the milk can split and leave a bitter, dull taste in your mouth. Since making the switch from dairy to plant-based milk, I’ve avoided milk entirely but now dairy-avoiders can finally enjoy their favourite cuppa without compromising on flavour," she says.

Aprile Wenke from Lipton Australia says that after discovering this was the case for dairy-free drinkers, they pledged to create a new blend - Australia’s first ever black tea designed with plant-based milks in mind.

The difference

"Quality is key when it comes to making the perfect cuppa," says Aprile. "Lipton Dairy Free has been specially blended so that it perfectly complements plant-based milks, delivering a bright golden appearance, rich aroma and smooth taste," says Aprile.

How to enjoy it

"For the best results, we recommend brewing it in 200ml of boiling water for two to three minutes, before adding dairy-free milk and gently stirring," she says.
