Is this Aperol Spritz icy pole the ultimate summer cooler?

Enjoy the iconic summer cocktail a refreshingly new way.

With Australian summer in full swing, weekends are getting hotter and hotter and what better way to deal with the heat than with your favourite cocktail? 

Well, instead of constantly refilling your glass, people are experimenting with their favourite cocktails in icy pole form. Yep, and the new craze this summer is to turn Aperol Spritz into delicious boozy icy poles to be enjoyed at your leisure.

How delicious does this sound? It's so easy that you can also make them at home.

Here's how:

Ingredients

  • 120ml Aperol
  • 300ml prosecco
  • 100ml soda water
  • 2 oranges, seeds removed
  • 10–12 icy pole moulds 

Method

Peel the oranges and slice each orange into eight parts, placing one slice into the bottom of each icy pole mould.

Combine the remaining ingredients in a carafe or jug and mix well. Pour the liquid into each icy pole mould and set in freezer for at least five hours. 

When fully set, remove from freezer and enjoy!
