How to Make It
Step 1: Place all the blocks of butter into a stainless steel pot on a low heat and let the butter melt.
Step 2: Once the butter has melted let it simmer for approximately 1 hour. During this time there are a number of things to remember:
- Do not let the butter burn. To ensure this keep it at a low heat the entire time. You want to simmer it- not boil it.
- Continuously remove the froth from the surface. This froth can be thrown away.
- During this time you can prepare the jars. Make sure they are clean and dry so that there is no presence of water.
Step 3: Once the butter is a clear golden liquid it can be poured into jars. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes before pouring it into the jars.
Step 4: Once you have poured the clarified butter into the jars, let it cool until room temperature. Place into a fridge and let it solidify.
