"What are you doing? You can't be serious. There's nothing British about that," Gordon declares.
Michelle, an American mum living in the UK, has gone viral on TikTok for her British cooking 'how-to' videos. Her unusual methods, including microwaving water for a cup of tea, have caused outrage.
Her newest video, showing her process making "British fish and chips", has gained a lot of attention. One bewildered viewer was famous feisty celeb chef, Gordon Ramsay, who filmed his reaction to the cooking clip.
In the video, Michelle gives a breakdown of how she makes the meal - starting with finding a fish all the way to plating it up.
She begins by explaining that you must "find your fish" at a water hole to which Gordon responds: "find your what?!" He is then appalled to see her method for making a batter.
She starts with flour, but then it begins to get unconventional. Michelle adds in eggs, sugar, root beer soda and a lot of salt and pepper. As he watched, Gordon cried out "nooooo" and said the mixture resembled "puke".
The process went from bad to worse, when Michelle plopped the fish in the batter and pulled the sweet elastic-y mix over the fillet. Once coated, she skipped the traditional frying and opted to put the fish in the microwave for 20 minutes.
Gordon yells: "What are you doing? You can't be serious. There's nothing British about that. In the microwave, are you kidding me? You've lost the plot."
This is not Gordon's first time providing feedback on someone's cooking on social media.
He is well-known for his culinary put-downs, as members of the general public like to send him pictures of their homecooked meals, just to hear his witty critiques.
