Ever wondered what happened to the contestants who starred in The Great Australian Bake Off this year?
What did they learn from the experience? Are they still baking? Who is still friends with who?
Here, we reveal all about what their lives look like now.
Zee has always been the jack of trades when it comes to weddings - and since her appearance in the Shed, this has not changed! She's always celebrating and officiating love, marrying couples and of course, baking some stunning and delicious cakes for weddings and the local markets around Melbourne, where she sells her divine, artisan wares.
Annette gave the Shed some Scottish flare, but since leaving she has turned one of the stables on her farm into a cake studio, been working on material for two cookbooks and is working on a top-secret project with Sue, which might just be international! In other news, Annette also achieved her brown belt in karate and says that Bake Off taught her to have confidence in herself as a baker, and "patience and lots of practice are the keys to successful baking!"
Laura credits GABO as being 'one of the best experiences of her life', and is still in almost daily contact with a lot of her fellow contestants. She's still baking, and has gone on to start her own company, Laura's Baking Co. and makes the most delightful creations for birthday parties and celebrations alike. Laura is now much healthier and loving life on the Gold Coast.
Dennis says, "I was determined to enjoy myself as much as anyone can in high-pressure situations" and managed to have the moment of the series when he spoke about his failed erections. Despite leaving in the earlier half of the competition, Dennis is still a winner, as he's since won two first places in the Royal Melbourne Show for his bread.
Sue has been a busy lady since leaving the Shed! She's written a cookbook, Taytas Lebanese & Mediterranean Kitchen, is touring the country doing cooking demonstrations in shopping centres and online, and does talks about the benefits of the Mediterranean diet. She's also learnt how to use fondant confidently and credits her time on Bake Off for learning new things and making new friends.
Anston has been baking and trialling out his own recipes since Bake Off wrapped. Apart from developing delicious vegan treats, he's finished his studies and is now working as a Community Engagement Officer as a local council - "one of the steps towards my dream job," he explains. On the food front, Anston hopes to also bottle some of his chutneys and jams and sell them. Sounds yum!
Loveable dad, Wynn is still running around after his four children and has gone from strength to strength with his baking. He's since made some incredibly realistic creations we can only describe as nothing short of amazing, such as a replica Louis Vuitton bag and a one-foot-tall Yoda. He's still enjoying baking with his kids and credits the experience as a challenge that's made him a better baker all-round.
Since the show, Angela created her own business selling the most amazing, glammed up macarons with a twist. Of course, it's called 'Glamarons'! She's busy baking, selling and creating some stunning macaron creations and believes Bake Off taught her the art of balancing textures and flavours. "I used to think more of a good thing was better, but I've learnt to refine, balance and think about pairing foods for a heightened experience. Thank you Matt and Maggie!," she says.
Best known for his fun aprons and punny jokes, Don has since enjoyed numerous trips to Paris where he has been living it up! Apart from dining with Matt Damon, he says, "I attended a VIP invitation only event at la Tour Eiffel. I have always been interested in fashion, and as you can see from the shirts I wear on the show. After my trip to fashion week it has really motivated me to get out the sowing machine and not only come up with more custom aprons, but also my range of bow ties."
After the final episode, Dan revealed that his partner of five years, Jeremy popped the question! In front of all their family and friends, Dan was so shocked to end his Bake Off journey on such a high - and he's currently enjoying a European holiday with his partner, as they enjoy this new chapter in their lives!
After a big trip overseas to Disneyland with his wife and daughter, Harper, Dave is back in the kitchen, experimenting with new flavours and taking some pretty amazing food photography. He also hosted a huge grand final party at his Melbourne home and invited most of the past contestants to share in the joy. Aww! ...although he still hasn't made peace with that fridge from the Shed who ruined his final showstopper bake!
Our star baker, Sunny, is still a scientist and home baker and has only widened her skill set since leaving the Shed. She said of her journey, "Every single person was a joy and they made the journey even more special by their kindness, accommodating our requests and just laughing and crying along with us."
