Take a class with best-selling cookbook author Donna Hay as she inspires, entertains and feeds all our senses.
In her new program, Donna Hay: Basics to Brilliance, celebrity cook Donna Hay shares some handy tips and tricks for around the kitchen, but also a rare insight into her personal life as well.
Savoring every day, the author and magazine editor-in-chief reveals she rises early and doesn’t muck around.
“I am really time-efficient,” the Sydney resident says. “I am not a timewaster, that’s for sure. I don’t really do many lunches and things. When I am at work, I work and then I leave at 5.30pm and I am at home with the boys [her two sons]. If my work flows over I might open my laptop after they go to bed, or I might not.”
Watching her latest TV offering to come to LifeStyle FOOD is a delicious experience. With magic finishing touches to the final product (the food and the cinematography), foodies and cooking novices will be hooked.
Basics to Brilliance echoes Hay’s own philosophy about food and cooking. Each episode takes viewers through simple recipes that any home cook can make, which can then be adapted into other dishes. An accompanying cookbook will be out later this year.
"The good thing about working on the book and testing all the recipes is that I got to write all my footnotes for the show at the same time,” says Hay.
“Because there’s a lot that as a cook that you do innately, so I have to make lots of notes about all the bits that are a bit tricky.”
“They are recipes that I think are good to learn and have in your repertoire that you can then spin into other things really easily,” she says.
Tune in to the first episode on Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30pm AEST on LifeStyle FOOD.
