Cockroach milk could be the next superfood

Would you try this new superfood?

With various types of milk from camel to macadamia milk on the rise, there's a new kid on the block.

The new buzz among experts is all about cockroach milk. Not only great for those who are lactose-intolerant, Medical Daily reported that it also contains nine essential amino acids that the human body needs. Additionally, cockroach milk is rich in protein, lipids and carbs - almost a meal in a glass!

But, before you get excited about guzzling cockroach milk, there are some concerns. Apart from needing more lab analysis on the benefits, another con is that it has a high calorie content. Just a 250ml cup of cockroach milk contains 700 calories, Medical Daily reports.

Also, if you're wondering how this milk is even made, it takes over 1000 cockroaches to make nearly half a cup of liquid. And of course, more research would be needed to find out if it is completely safe for human consumption. In the meantime we will just stick to our regular varieties!
