This restaurant is no stranger to awards.
400 Gradi in Lygon street, Melbourne is an institution. The Brunswick eatery is ever so popular with customers, three other franchises have since opened in the Melbourne suburbs - and there's now even a shop in Adelaide!
This popularity can only mean one thing - their food is delicious. But, it's actually been voted the best by experts, too, taking out the prize for Best Pizzeria in Oceania, as judged by the 50 Top Pizza awards in Naples, Italy.
This was a wonderful result for the team, who scooped 2019's prestigious award after winning the same title back in 2018, too.
As part of the judging process, each year a panel of anonymous inspectors travel around the world to many different pizzerias, sampling the different pizzas on offer and judging them based on everything you could imagine.
Yes, it's about the authentic, Neopolitan tastes of the dough and toppings, but elements like the wine list and the service even come in to play, too. The inspectors take their roles very seriously, and then develop a list of the top 50 restaurants in the region.
If you haven't been to 400 Gradi, we suggest making a trip to taste the award-winning pies. Owner and chef Johnny Di Francesco is always creating new flavour combinations and is never afraid to push the boundaries. We can't wait to see if they can nab the award for a third year running!
