After going through 3.6 million pizza orders in 2019, Menulog have revealed the most hated topping in Australia - and it's not pineapple.
With endless memes and jokes, it seemed as if the internet had decided that pineapple was the most hated pizza topping, but that is not the case.
Menulog collated all the information from all the pizza orders they received in 2019 to find out what Australians are really requesting on their dough, and the results are very interesting.
While many expected pineapple, it was olives that people hate the most. However, pineapple was the second most requested to be removed and the first most requested to be added to customers' pizzas.
Although people hate olives, it's not an aversion to saltiness, as the number two most requested addition was - surprisingly - anchovies. The small oily fish may strike you as a more of an acquired taste than olives, but it seems that Aussies can't get enough.
Overall, the simple Margherita was the most-loved last year, with each state having their own unique favourite.
New South Wales, ACT and Queensland are mental for a Supreme pizza (hold the olives, obviously). Victoria keeps it simple with a classic Margherita, while both WA and Northern Territory are total carnivores - the majority preferring a Meat lovers pie. South Australia is the most unique. Seemingly a state of pineapple lovers, their 2019 number pizza is the Hawaiian.
