Australia's First Vegan Milk Bar has Opened

Australians are the world's most curious bunch when it comes to living a vegan lifestyle, new research has found.

With the number of Aussies opting for plant-based diets now anticipated to be more than a million, it probably doesn't come as a surprise. 

In the past decade, vegetarian and vegan dining options have exploded in our cities - even within our supermarket aisles. 

Perhaps this is why we're finally seeing the creation of the nation's first vegan milk bar - which opened in Sydney's Bondi Beach last week.

Zeitgeist Mylk Bar offers specialty milkshakes made with house-made almond macadamia "mylk", as well as raw and baked vegan treats, such as cinnamon donuts, raw cheese cakes and chocolate bars.

Zeitgeist Mylk Bar was created by a 22-year-old Sydney-sider,Grace Watson, who has been vegan since high school.

Following a successful opening weekend, she will continue to offer her signature 'znickers', red velvet and apple pie and custard shakes - but only on Saturdays and Sundays for now to keep up the demand for her delicious homemade treats.
