The simple hack that will change how you slice watermelon - forever!

Never get messy slicing a watermelon again!

There's no shortage of super-handy food prep hacks. From saving avocados to storing your fresh herbs, there is always a new and improved way of doing everyday kitchen tasks.

The latest viral cooking hack is so simple and can cut down your watermelon prep time to a minute. Originally shared on Reddit, a woman showed her genius dental floss technique.

An easy way to slice watermelon- just be sure the floss isn’t minty! from r/lifehacks

Using a taut piece of floss, she effortlessly slices through the flesh of the watermelon, scooping it out of the green skin. She then utilises the floss to slice the large piece into easy to handle bits. No washing up!

The  video points out that you should avoid using minty floss, as it will leave your melon tasting and smelling like spearmint!

But some Reddit users suggested that mint and watermelon is a nice flavour combination, so there's no reason to skip the minty floss:

One commenter wrote: "Minty floss would be delicious as well. Ever tried a watermelon mojito?"

"Watermelon with spearmint its amazing," said another.

So, why not give it a try?
