A week of Jamie Oliver's warming winter dinners

We all get tired of trying to figure out what to have for dinner, especially when it's cold and all you can think about is rugging up and getting in to bed of an evening.

We love Jamie Oliver's recipes because they're full of the wholesome and nutritious ingredients everyone needs during winter.

They're the ultimate in comfort food, employing a lot of slow-cooking and roasting techniques to create hearty meals for both adults and kids. 

Here's an idea for every night of the week.

Monday: Chicken and pumpkin cacciatore

This one-pan recipe should take between 1.5 to 2 hours to cook, but that's ok because it's also perfect to take for lunches during the week. While the title calls for pumpkin, you can also use sweet potato if this is your preference.

Tuesday: Shepherd's pie

This is the perfect recipe for when you've made a roast the previous night or over the weekend and have some leftovers you want to put to use. If you haven't got a ready-made roast, there are instructions to make one in the recipe, but we can also recommend popping one in your slow cooker that morning, and then coming home to some tender meat that evening.

Wednesday: Sausage pappardelle

This recipe does include the option to make your own pasta - but if you don't feel like doing that on your weeknight, this easy recipe is quick to whip up. 

Thursday: Cauliflower and broccoli cheese

Covered in a delicious white sauce and cheese, this dish makes veggies appealing to even the fussiest eaters. Whether you're making to accompany a family roast or you want to enjoy a solo dinner rugged up on the couch, this cheesy meal is the best of comfort foods.

Friday: Chicken tikka masala

Resist the urge to get take-away on a Friday night and opt for this rich Indian meal instead. Make sure you stock up on naan bread ahead of time for the most delicious dining experience.

Saturday: Winter night's chilli

This stew-type meal is perfect for meat lovers, as it contains both pork belly and brisket. This particular recipe also serves 12 people, which means it's perfect for Saturday night entertaining, or for leftovers.

Sunday: Roast pork

Jamie claims this one is perfect for a lazy Sunday. Pop it in the oven in the morning and by dinner you'll be drooling!
