10 Drool-Worthy Burger Recipes

If there was ever a day worth celebrating, it's International Burger Day!

May 28 marks a very special occasion for which we are permitted to celebrate the heavenly gift that is the burger. 

While Beef tends to be Aussies' filling of choice, there is no shortage of burger-types available today.

Here are some of our favourite recipes to make in your own kitchen.

1. Popcorn Chicken and Bacon Burger

This insanely good-looking, crunch-tastic burger was created by Cuckoo Callay cafe in Sydney's hip and trendy suburb of Newtown. Now, you can get your hands on one in your own kitchen. 

2. Jamie Oliver's Insanity Burger

This has all the makings of a great, classic, juicy beef burger, but the sauce is what makes it a real winner. You can always trust Jamie to deliver!

3. Kangaroo Burgers with Wild Tomato Chutney

This is Australia, mate - and we eat roos for tea! Well, some of us do. Roo meat may be cheap, but serve it up between two soft buns with an apple and fennel slaw, and you've got a rich feast!

4. Pork Belly Burger

This unique burger will certainly impress friends at a BBQ. Pork belly is definitely a great indulgent food for winter!

5. Prawn Sliders

One for the seafood-lovers! This fresh favourite will remind you of summer. 

6. Cajun Steak Burger

7. Grilled Beet Sliders with Guacamole

Finally, one for the vegetarians! While mushroom burgers tend to be the vego favourite, this beet burger is a truly spectacular flavour combo. 

8. Pulled Pork Burger

Get your slow-cookers out! Enjoy this pulled pork burger with a side of homemade fries, and you will be in heaven. 

9. Cheeseburger

Take it back to basics with this American-style cheeseburger. Use top notch Angus beef mince, that gooey American cheese, and top with sauce, pickles, onions and lettuce.

10. Bunless Lamb Burger

George Calombaris is a master of Greek cuisine - so we can certainly trust him when it comes to lamb! If bread isn't your thing, try going for a bun-less burger and topping with a mushroom instead.
