Trish's Paris Kitchen

In this exciting new cookery series, Trish Deseine takes us on an inspirational and delicious journey into the way the French people cook, eat and live. Trish Deseine first went to Paris 20 years ago from her native Belfast. She quickly discovered that food, eating and cooking are deeply infused into the French psyche. Trish will make you fall in love with French food, French style and the French capital. She will show you how to take a leaf out of a Frenchwoman's life so you will be able to cook with confidence and style. Throughout Trish's Paris Kitchen, we will see how exactly one handles French delicacies such as foie gras, truffles and lobster. We explore the heart of any French town, the bistro, learn how to prepare classic bistro dishes, and we meet first hand some of the movers and shakers in the world of French cuisine.

Born in Belfast but living in France for the last 20 years Trish Deseine is now one of France's most successful food writers having written nine books and sold over 300,000 copies worldwide. French Elle describes her as an 'Irish tornado'. The Irish Independent calls her the 'French Martha Stewart'.

Hi. there is a website where you can get her recipes. If you do a google search for: trish's paris kitchen, you will find her recipes. She does have cook books but these recipes are free. You have to click on 'Recipes" to get them and this one is under souffle des fromage. Hope this helps. I will also be trying some of the recipes as I love her show

    Dear LifeStyle FOOD Channel viewers,

In episode 2 "Decadence" Trish Deseine demonstrates her method of preparing a lobster. In Australia we do not consider boiling a live crustacean a humane method of cooking it, however this may not be the case in Europe. If you wish to read further on the subject of acceptable methods of cooking crustaceans please go to this link - http://www.rspca.org.au/policy/positiong.asp

Please help!! Just finished watching Trish go through a gigantic food hall in Paris and she was showing us all the magical things you could made from sugar. There were sugared frogs, flowers etc and even coloured sugar to match your kitchen.. Trish did say where she was but I didn't catch it. Does anyone know where in Paris she was? Thanks so much and happy cooking. Helen

I absolutely, positively love watching this show. I love how Trish takes us behind the scenes of cooking; the markets, the famous chef's kitchens, and enters the heart of Paris and the French. For me it's almost an out of body experience watching this show - I visit Paris every afternoon! Please never take it off air. Unlike the relaxed French mother this is an escape for a stressed out overworked Australian mother.

I think that gigantic food hall in paris is the Grand Epicerie at the Bon Marche dept store. I was there in April and it looked very familiar. I noticed one of the jars she held up as saying it was very cute and it looked like the jar of lavender jelly i bought there.

I would never imagined that cooking can be so spiritual, but Trish you do that with such ease. Thoroughly enjoy your programme.
