Trish's Mediterranean Kitchen

About the show

Summer has arrived and Trish Deseine, of Trish's Paris Kitchen, is heading south for this new six-part series. She's lived in Paris for more than 20 years and like any true Parisienne, flees the city in the summer. For this series she is heading down to the Mediterranean, to sample the delights of Marseilles, Toulon, the Camargue and the vineyards of Provence.

The Mediterranean has been described as a superhighway of culture, transport and trade and certainly the history of the region makes it a melting pot. Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Persian, Phoenician, Jewish, Arab, Turkish, Greek and, crucially, Roman people have all left their mark. And that diversity is reflected in the rich mix of ingredients that Trish finds to bring into her Mediterranean Kitchen. Lamb Tagine, enlivened with spices from the market in Marseilles, Ratatouille made with fresh organic vegetables from the Camargue, and fish dishes like Bouillabaisse and grilled sardines.

Handy56. I have been very fortunate to be able to aquire one of Raewyn's beautifully hand crafted masterpieces. Apparently my Husband liked the idea of his own French Maid ... Hmmmm. Anyway the brand name "Notforcooking" suits the attire and perhaps they should come with a 'Hot Chilly' rating ... Hmmm. DJS Mackay

I also have been looking for these aprons for some time. My son told me about them but have not been able to see them or find where to buy them....so...I thought if I could not find them I would start making some of my own! ( I have been sewing and designing since I was 13 yrs old) My 'notforcooking' versions are bustier style, boned and made from silk, lace, tulle, chiffon etc ..with a big bow at the back and suit cup sizes to an E cup and an average 10-18 ladies. Theyactually look more like a corset or a peice of sexy underwear but are designed to be worn over a dinner dress to serve a meal .....or in the bedroom... over not much! If you want to see what I have produced..I am send you some photos. Raewyn
