Too Many Cooks

About the show

Fun and food meet in a culinary battle that is guaranteed to tantalise the taste buds. Too Many Cooks, hosted by food-loving Jeni Barnett (Good Food Live), is a studio-based show featuring three exciting chefs as judges who have excellent credentials and aren’t afraid to speak their minds.

Each night, the mouth-watering competition sees eight passionate and aspiring cooks in a cook-off over three courses for an amazing culinary prize. It's a chance for great home cooks to prove themselves to the professionals, or be put in their place if their cooking is not up to scratch – contestants often turn out to be worse cooks than they think they are! The problems for the kitchen wannabes – or chefettes as Jeni calls them – is that they have the pressure of time to contend with, an unfamiliar environment and a professional chefs tongue for tasting – or lashing!

Cooking in pairs, the contestants are asked to prepare a starter, main course and dessert. A team is eliminated at each of the first two stages, leaving two couples to compete for a place in the final at the dessert stage. Cameras capture the eliminated contestants’ reactions as they leave the set, giving plenty of opportunities for emotions and frustrations to boil over.

Packed with tips and with lots of laughs along the way, Too Many Cooks sets out to discover who will be top of the pots, and which couple will make the grade in the grand final.
