Two hunter-gatherers travel around the UK - attempting to live entirely off the land. They say there's no such thing as a free lunch, but cook Thomasina Miers and writer and adventurer Guy Grieve (Escape to Alaska) don't agree. Guy has survived nearly a year in the wilds of Alaska and knows how to eat to live.
Tommi lives to eat and is a vociferous champion of local and seasonal food. They believe that the countryside isn't just picturesque, it's a rich larder just waiting to be unlocked, and in a bid to prove that wild food is better than any supermarket or Michelin starred restaurant.
From beefsteak mushrooms in Cornwall woods to catching scallops in Scotland Tommi and Guy travel across the UK demonstrating how to hunt, catch and forage for their supper.

What a crock .. should be banned .. the show is just a 'representation' .. its premise that there are rich pickings in the wild .. sure .. the odd wild apple .. a mushroom or two .. a fish .. but leave the bloody wild alone - its 'commons' so leave MY commons alone .. the old argumenst .. we have instincts to hunt and kill .. well dont go there .. humans could be 'game' .. there is NO rationale for eating this food .. enough farmed produce in circulation .. raised to any standard you desire .. its a media crock .. another soft porn food show .. write and complain ... 'Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall' .. has a lot more respect if you must watch something ..
loved this show. These guys are great, I wish I could live like this.
talentless posho's who can neither cook nor seemingly hold down a proper job. Hunter gatherer in this country is pointless and to "unlock the rich larder" of this country would be virtually a fruitless endeavour. you only have to look at their smug and sullen faces to know this.
