I want to add to all the lovely comments about Sophie's show, that I too am very much a fan, and feel that she seems to love the same things as I do about life, people, places, times gone by, and of course,food, etc. She is a delight!
Her show on cooking for a special occasion made me think. Sophie's food was mostly prepared the day or hours before, the table casual and colourful with everything served at once to create generosity and abundance. You couldn't help being relaxed, as the hostess or the guest. Isn't this a better approach to a dinner party than sitting formaly at a 'perfect' table creating a pressure that most people dont want these days? Did it for me, I will change my style after 30 years of formal dinner parties!!

Love it! One of those shows that gives you a "good feel". I was a bit tentative with Sophie Dahl when I saw advertised for the fist time, but I fell in love with her charm and stories immediately! Recipes great too, and I want every cooking item she uses!
