Stuart MacGill Uncorked

Presented by celebrated Australian leg spinner and noted wine enthusiast Stuart MacGill, this exclusive new eight-part series is about everyday wine appreciation. In the second series of Uncorked, Stuart explores eight prominent wine growing regions. Stuart will once again give us his personal take on the current wine scene through a new generation of young winemakers, introducing the stars of upcoming wine regions like Mudgee, Barossa Valley, Rutherglen, Swan Valley, Orange and the Clare Valley. He tastes the classics, experiences the pleasures of matching wine and food; and jets off to New Zealand to give us a taste of the fabulous wines coming from Marlborough and Hawkes Bay. Along the way Stuart will share his passion and knowledge of wine together with his personal recommendations and tasting notes in his own easy style that everyone will relate to. Browsing that bottle shop or restaurant wine list to find the right wine for you and your guests will be a more rewarding and enjoyable experience after watching this series.

I'm allergic to preservative 220 found in most wines. It seems to be a growing trend amongst people I talk to as well. We have found that preservative 224 is OK though. How about doing a show on just the wines that have preservative 224 - it's a growing market as more and more people are becoming aware of what preservatives are in their food/wine consumption.

You could try using my product: "so2go" to remove the sulphites.

224 and 220 are different versions of same thing ie sulphur dioxide SO2.
220 is kiquified form of SO2.
224 is salt version potassium metabisulfite.
When the salt version enters wine it breaks down to form exact same SO2 as 220.
So only difference is very small amount of potassium ion.

I wonder if Stuart might spend some time in places such as New Zealand, California and possibly, even, South America?

Great show and he does a great job hosting.

Kudos to Stuart and his ability to ask the right questions when talking to winemakers. But I have to say that one of the one appealing aspects of the show is the imagery, so big raps to those who shoot and edit the show - each episode always makes me wish I was there with Stuart enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes. Look forward to seeing new regions being profiled as well as returns to those already show-cased. Maybe some varietal tastings in future episodes across wine regions (?).

After hearing Stuart's comments on Rockford Basket Press Shiraz, we just had to have a taste whilst visiting the Barossa recently. It didn't disappoint! Neither did the food at the branch cafe. Great show and looking forward to the next series.
