The show for professional chefs returns for a second series, as once again, the contestants are put through their paces to find out who will be crowned champion of MasterChef: The Professionals. This exciting, nerve-wracking series follows the hunt for a young chef who can make it to the top of the culinary world. Legendary double Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jnr and MasterChef judge, Gregg Wallace, are searching for the chef that has the skills, commitment, palate and style to make it one day to a Michelin standard.
Over the course of six gruelling weeks, all the hopeful chefs are filtered down to just one winner. They must use their ingenuity, their experience and their professionalism to get through a variety of challenging cooking environments in order to show they are worthy of the title of Champion.

I love this show, watch every time and am always inspired. I have made the Aria Chocolate Tart about about eight times now, it is always a winner at my dinner parties.
Please as a favor to everyone - Do not put on the Australian Master Chefs series on the Food channel - the last thing we need local would bees trying to reinvent a series from the UK that works so well. The Australian series was a sham - disgusting and useless - It would be the final straw for me and the food channel and would have to cut my connection to Foxtel if they ever did - mind you - its that close now with the dumb *** programming - what is the hairy bikers - 2 fat blokes on bikes - memories of 2 fat ladies on a bike - God do you think we are that dumb - and that Ian Hewlitson from NZ - what a waste of time - you can also add ready steady bore me to tears as well, that Giana from the US - useless - has the life style food channel programmers left - does anyone have concerns about some diversity
Isn't this a repeat of the 2008 series? When do you show the 2009 series, which I understand has already been shown in the UK
John Torode isn't actually gone. He does the amateur one and the celeb one, but Michel Roux Jr does the professional one because he's a proper Michelin starred chef. I guess they let Greg do the professional show instead of John because John has a real job to get on with, whereas Greg just gets paid to eat stuff. Lucky man! How come so many of the so-called professionals are so awful at the skills test? Did you see them massacring the artichokes? And the spun sugar attempts were disastrous. I've never done it, but I know the basic principles, and I'm not a chef. Surely these guys should have at least a vague idea!
I love this show. Someone earlier said Michel Roux should have his own show. What a good idea.
we in south africa love masterchef but like the last time on the eve of the final the show simply disappeared off our screens. this has happened again. please let us into the finale. it is very frustrating.

Masterchef is brilliant and for some unknown reason our whole family gets involved. the only slight downside is everytime I Cook something you get comments "not good presentation" "too many vegetables" "liitle on the overcooked side dont you think" and all that jazz!!
I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THESE SO CALLED JUDGES PUT CHRIS THROUGH IN HONG KONG. A DOG COULD HAVE PEED ON THAT LEAF!!! JULIE SHOULD HAVE WON!! SHE HAS WORKED SOOO HARD AND COME SOOO FAR - BUT THEN YOU ARE MALES AND I BELIEVE THAT CHRIS IS YOUR FAVOURITE. GOD FORBID IF YOU SHOULD HAVE AN ALL FEMALE FINAL!!!! YOUR EGO'S COULD NOT TAKE THAT COULD IT! I AM HAPPY THAT I AM NOT ON YOUR MISERABLE ONE EYE'D SHOW. I WOULD HAVE WALKED OUT BACK WHEN ORIGINALLY CHRIS WAS IN CHARGE OF A GROUP OF COOKS....MARVELOUS HOW HE WAS AND HAS BEEN THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS NOT ELIMINATED. AFTER ALL OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH IT SHOULD ALL COME BACK ON THE PERSON IN CHARGE!! I WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE NEXT SHOW. SOME OF THE BEST COOKS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED ALREADY BECAUSE OF PERSONAL INDIFFERENCES. THIS HAS BEEN A SHAM AND TOTALLY MISLED IT'S VIEWERS. I COULD PUT MONEY ON WHO WILL BE THE JUDGES FINAL BOY!
How about you have a think about what this is about.... is it about trying hard, or is it about who is the best chef? If it was called "MasterTryHard" Julie would prob win, but unfortunately its called MasterChef, and therefore Chris beats Julie hands down.

I absolulely love MasterChef -Greg is a cutie!I do miss John, but repect chef Michel. I dont understand why John & Michel who have the most experience are not the hosts, but am glad to watch Greg :)

I HAVE WATCHED ALL THE MASTER CHEF SHOWS AND LOVED THEM ALL I WAS JUST EXSTATIC WHEN DEREK WON I JUMPED OFF MY SEAT AND CHEERD FOR HIM THAT FINAL WAS THE BEST OF THEM ALL ,DEREK WAS MY FAVOURITE FROM THE START. HOW ABOUT A SHOW ON WHERE ARE THEY NOW,IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE SHOW HAS ENHANCED THE CAREER OF THE WINNERS OF MASTER CHEF.

The Wife & I sit down with a ***tail (Yes I like them too) & watch every Episode. Great excuse for a Tipple & the Libations certainly help our loungeroom commentary.
TRANSLATION = ***tail is a drink made with alcohol & other mixers & shaken with Ice in a Swearing-(***tail ) Shaker & consumed in a Swearing-(***tail ) Gl***.
Never miss an episode. But more of the experts please.. Michel Roux Jr is fantastic.. I would love to see John T and Michel R Jr judging.. The quality of the judges is reflected in the quality of the winners each week
