Market Kitchen

Getting out of the kitchen and into the hustle and bustle of a market, Market Kitchen is an exciting new daily food magazine series presenting ideas on where to enjoy and cook the very best of British food.

Entertaining and interactive, Market Kitchen is presented by passionate and knowledgeable foodies with a real appetite for life. Fronted by Tom Parker Bowles (author of The Year of Eating Dangerously and food writer for the Mail on Sunday and Tatler), Matthew Fort (food writer and critic) and award winning chef Matt Tebbutt (Great British Menu). Each week the team will be joined by a celebrity guest chef, and all the mouth-watering food created during the programme will be sampled and judged by members of the public, invited to join them in the Market Kitchen café.

Borough Market, Britain’s best known farmers market provides the backdrop to the series and will give the show a unique feel, allowing access to the freshest and best local ingredients with an unrivalled range of meat, fish and vegetables and of course a wealth of entertaining characters working at and visiting the market.

Why can't you get a recipe from the show just watched?
Do we really have to record it and write it down?

Why were you presenting Dutchy Foods as a healthy alternative on Oz TV today when it has been proven that their foods are far higher in Sugar, Salt and fats than other food on the market?

You don't have to write it down, go onto uktvfood.co.uk and type in the name of the recipe. It should come up in there.

On today's show 5/2/09 it was commented that the show is now shown in Australia. How about an episode or part of an episode featuring Australian cuisine and products which are available in Britain? I really enjoy the format of the show, but wish Tom would talk just a little bit slower. I feel he tends to gabble a bit.

I really enjoy watching Market Kitchen, with all the guest chefs and other good topics covered relating to food. My only problem with the recipes is that it seems all the people who cook on the show seem to think that lamb must have rosemary, however I am alergic to rosemary and need to see some recipes with lamb using other herbs.

oregano, lemon thyme, mint and parsley all go well. I use a marinade for my lamb roast that uses lemon thyme, wine and oregano and it's beautiful.

I tried a Jamie Oliver recipe where he roasted a leg of lamb marinated in lemon, sage and anchovies. It was great.

I really enjoy this show and our meals have improved considerably since I have been watching it. HOWEVER being a very proud New Zealander I am not to impressed when they "knock" my country. We all think our own produce is by far the best. I cooked some british lamb for my son last time I was in London and could not get over how lacking in flavour it was. Our lamb can be cooked with only the addition of salt and pepper and still has the most tremendous flavour.

Maybe your problem is "we all think our produce is the best"!!!. How can you possibly say that when there are countries like UK, Spain, France, Italy to name only a few. NZ produce is good,in areas, but the best???? And yes I am Kiwi born and often not a very proud one.

They do not knock NZ food. They advocate British food. Why would we want NZ lamb that travels thousands of miles when we have our own perfectly good lamb here. You must have, unfortunately, bought cheap lamb from overseas or something not well produced. British food has some of the best food in the world if you buy from reputable producers. I am sure NZ has it own good an bad food producers.

Hello from Queensland Australia, we watch the show everyday have tried most of the recipes what I now like is that the recipes are now in metric which we use here, I have tried some from the US but have to convert to metric which sometimes is not worth it
