On Margaret Fulton’s 85th Birthday The LifeStyle Channel will premiere a one-hour documentary which celebrates the history of Australian food through the recollections of Australian food legend Margaret Fulton, a pioneer of the Australian kitchen. From the meat and three veg of the 1940’s and 50’s, to the pasta of the 60’s, the fondue of the 70’s, the salmon mousse of the 80’s, to the generation of Australian chef’s that have changed the world’s taste buds forever.

Hi Margaret. You share the same name as My Mum, and I grew up with the recipes, unfortunately my Mum, cannot understand what you are doing supporting Woolworths. Margaret we are people from the land- I know you have a good heart and probably dont know this, but Coles And Woolworths are literaly killing the farmers in a premeditated way. I hope you research and find this is fairdinkum Margaret and you will stand by Australian Farmers. God Bless you Margaret.
I am 50, Ive always loved cooking and trying new recipes and would you believe i bought my FIRST cookbook of Margarets from the Coles bookstands. i would often go past and have a read through till finally i bought it. i like how she talks through each recipe in it.Im up late reading it IN BED! does anyone know of a recipe for apple crumble by margeret fulton?
Margaret, I still make my American Style pumpkin pie using your recipe. I have discovered that the butternut pumpkin you recommended is even better if you roast it, not boil it, before you make the pumpkin puree. Thanks for helping a transplanted Yank make homestyle pumpkin pie without a can of pumpkin. Your Encyclopedia of Cookery is a Classic cookbook in my family! Starr Gotzen rgotzen@bigpond.com

From one generation to another: I actually nicked mum's Margaret Fulton cookbooks when I moved out of home. She quickly noticed so I had to bring them back with my tail between my legs. She has since gifted her new one to me! Love your work "Aunty Marg" !!!
I really enjoy Margaret Fulton ideas on cooking. I am organising my sister's Breakfast Kitchen Tea for my sister any ideas on menus or what to have. thankyou
I Love Margaret, I was 6 years old when i started cooking from her cook book. Mum had recieved it for a wedding present. She would cook from it. i would watch. I believe that's how I grew my passion for cooking. I still enjoy cooking from her books. Thanks for the passion in your wounderful recipes that have made me want to know the kitchen better.
I live in Cape Town, South Africa and I was given The Margaret Fulton Cookbook in 1969 when I moved into a communal house and had to learn to cook. It became my 'Bible' and I still use it often along with the 3 other books of hers I bought subsequently. I have become a passionate cook and own a huge library of other books but none of them are as good. Congratulations.
I met Margaret Fulton many years ago when I worked in North York Street at a Printing factory in Sydney, she lived nearby the little shop I used to call in every morning, she was a lovely lady and always had a pleasant word to say . Her cook books are great, very down to earth and easy to understand.
My mum had one of her cookbooks when I was growing up and I remember always flicking through it and looking at the pics, wishng mum would cook this or that. Years later I rang her and asked for the Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic recipe that I remembered was in there - it was divine! I've also been using Margaret's Beef Stroganoff recipe ever since I got it out of a Woman's Day mag back in the 80's - it tastes soooo good!
I'd love to know & hear what other members favourite Margaret Fulton recipes are... I still marvel that she had to educate Australians on how best to eat spaghetti in her classic cookbook..oh how times have changed.
