Featuring leading New Zealand chefs and restaurants, top food and wine producers and delicious recipes, the series is a gastronomic journey around the North Island of New Zealand. From the cultural capital Wellington, through the picturesque Tararua Mountain range and the wine district of Martinborough, Neil makes his way across the North Island visiting Hawke’s Bay, Napier, Lake Taupo, Huka Lodge and Waiheke Island to finally end in Auckland.
In this series, Neil does all of his cooking on location. There’s a BBQ feast of scotch fillet with brussel sprouts, smoky bacon and anchovy sauce and masala crusted lamb cutlets with grilled sweet peppers at the Martinborough Hotel. Rainbow trout in Moroccan spices and fresh water prawns in herb and spice paste at the five-star Huka Lodge; and steamed green lip mussels with spiga (cous cous) at Stonyridge Vineyards on Waiheke Island.
It is a celebration of great food and wine, with spectacular locations, mouth-watering cinematography, easy-to-follow recipes and fascinating characters.
