The series also reveals Australia’s fascinating beer history. In fact, on the very first Australia Day, as the Union Jack was hoisted, Captain Phillip proposed a toast with a beer in hand! And, one of the First Fleet convicts, James Squire, would go on to become one of the colony’s wealthiest men as the nation’s first brewer.
