Rustlers has moved into their stunning new location on Stirling Terrace. It has taken Dean and Tammi Oorschot eighteen months to renovate this old gymnasium with indoor pool into their very comfortable large Steakhouse. Remember though, Rustlers is more than a steakhouse offering Seafood, Chicken, Lamb, Pork and Vegetarian meals. Every thing is made fresh on the premises including our lovely range of desserts. Having a birthday? well call us, and we will arrange a cake for you made by our chef. We now have a full liquor license.

We decided to try Rustlers on a Sunday evening. BIG MISTAKE!!! From the outset, service was marginal with the server trying hard, but unable to adequately answer simple questions like, "Is the seafood fresh?" The bottle of water brought to the table was lukewarm and stale. An omen? We ordered 2 dinners - a seafood plate and a grilled chicken Caesar salad plus an order of garlic bread. The cold garlic bread was soggy and tough. The seafood plate was delivered to the table after 20 MINUTES, cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. We requested that the seafood dish be cooked properly. The dish was returned 10 minutes later with, now, overcooked and tough seafood. The Caesar salad HAD NOT EVEN BEEN DELIVERED TO THE TABLE YET! When the salad was FINALLY served, instead of a grilled, sliced chicken breast placed on a salad base, there were 3 charred lumps of over-cooked, dry, crunchy chicken on a bed of greens. Almost everything wrong with this "meal" could be attributed to the kitchen staff. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone expecting decent food and service.
Top quality fantastic steaks, always cooked to perfection. Friendly service @ a bustling, vibrant venue. The only negative is that sides, entrees & kids meals are a little over-priced. This is a neighbourhood gem that consistently lives up to its great reputation.

It's not really a modern australian, but it doesn't fit the others. The meals are enjoyable, the service is good and the deserts are excellent. Best of all, the atmosphere is casual, which makes it easy to kick back and relax with friends and family.
Because it is the Best Steakhouse ever. I would not say that it is modern australian, but considering that you do not have a steak/steakhouse category, it was the closest one i could find to it.
The desserts are yummy, and served with pot set cream and home made ice cream. We had the rum and rasin ice cream but there is also rocky road ice cream and honey comb ice cream too. For the sweet lovers you'll be in heaven

Every time we have gone Tammy is so friendly and the steaks are to die for. The last one I tried was the Carpetbag Stead. PERFECT. Thank you for an enjoyable time everytime.
The best steak you will ever eat. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere relaxed and jovial. Guarenteed to become a family favourite.

Rustlers is a fantastic steakhouse, that makes the best steak I have ever tasted. The atmosphere there is so lively and vibrant. I recommend this very highly to everyone.
