Awesome venue, great service and outstanding food. This place is a must see on anyones travel list. No disappointments at all...and what an amazing range of products behind the bar....and some cute staff as well :)
I recently ventured to the well known "Crown and Sceptre" and was very impressed by not only the extensive wines available by the glass including my favourite, French Gerwurztraminer but also the great Chef Specials. On this balmy night my partner and I decided to let the waitress help choose for us and wow were we given a gourmet treat. This is far from your local pub fare...We indulged in house made chicken pate, Crab Souffle, rabbit confit and a divine apple & butterscotch crepe. This place is such a hidden treasure...great service, great food, fantastic atmosphere...Keep it up!!!!! 10/10
Ate there Thursday evening 28/05/2009. Initial reaction to venue on entering their newly renovated dining room was very positive. The candles, lighting and artwork made us feel welcome and comfortable. This feeling was further reinforced by a likeable, knowledgable waiter who warmly welcomed us, detailed the pre dinner drink and ran through the specials of the day. The choice of wines and spirits was extensive along with a good selection of beers. Jen went for the pre dinner drink for $8.00 and was happy with the choice. I had my usual pale ale, being offered the choice of a schooner, pint or stubbie, now that's service. The waiter mentioned a couple of entrees to try and we decided to share the chilli and aged cheese pizza with accompaniment for $8. Glad we shared as we had 3 slices each and it was great choice. For mains we went for one of the day's specials which was unlisted but one of the waiters recommendations. We both decided on the chicken & leek pot for $22. What can I say other than we throughly enjoyed every bit of it. A nicely spiced pie baked and delivered in a pot accompanied with a nice assortment of autumn vegetables. I asked for my vegetables to be additionally spiced and this request was met with no problems. Had no time to try the desserts as we were off to a play. Would we go again. You bet ya. Mark and Jen.l
