Cafe Belgiorno

We have never had a bad meal there the food is beautiful they do stuff the orders up sometimes which can be a pain however I havent had any issues with the service and it suprises me some of these comments about working there as one thing I have noticed is some of the staff there have worked there for years so if the place was that bad why would the waitresses stay. I give it two thumbs up for beautiful food :)

Belgiorno great food terrible service, but mount gambier has nothing else worth ating except the barn

Belgornos is a great place to eat and it has been a place for our family since we were what 3? to have birthday teas, anniverserys and many other exciting things. The great thing about it is that it is a really nice place service is wanderiful and in my opinion you need top wait for good food because thats what it is good food! I love that place with all my heart and i would do anything for that polace. Working there is wanderful and yes there are some complaints but we try and make ti better. The managers do care and are really nice so what i say is that ithat place is awesomre and it makes you happy and the service is fantastic. =)

ok - read all the comments on Thursday prior to my dinner at Belgoriono and was begining to think I had made the wrong venue choice........ We had a table of Four - entrees good. Main course - 3 excellent - 1 lacking {this was the lamb shanks- taste was good but meat didnt fall from the bone as it should} As for the waitress - polite and friendly- could do with some refinement but on the hole - good.

my 7 year old daughter choked on a piece of plastic in her meal. turns out it was part of the DISPOSABLE container used to store the precooke dpasta before it is heated up. all they did was give us our money back and send us on our way. the owners need to sell it to someone who gives a *** about the customers!!!!! i will never eat at this place ever again. and from what i've been told by others (including staff) the health inspector should take a good hard look at this place. i have never been to cafe belgirorno's without something going wrong. australia's best pizza??? that was years ago you ...!!!

I couldn't agree more with the negative reviews. I am not a Complainer. But the ridiculously long wait for my substandard meal led to me speaking to the manager who then argued with me and told me that "if I was a reasonable person I would see his side of it". Appalling service is unacceptable and a manager that doesn't listen to his customers is the source of all the problems.

nothing has changed, we went there last week for a birthday, first our group of 27 were squashed on 2 round tables and a small one tacked on the side of one rtable, against a wall and too close to other tables we could hardly get out to order, the food came out in dribs and drabs, wrong meals were also bought out, hair in one and a piece of plastic was found in another meal.The whole place was very overcrowded, staff/management really didnt seem to care.Yes the cafe is very nice and rustic,and the food did taste nice,but we always have problems with service, seating etc. This could be easily rectified by the owners if they cared about their customers, someone needs to open a similar style cafe in mt gambier for competition , maybe then they will lift there game. I would rather eat at Wild Ginger, fantastic service and food, well priced too.

I too have thought the place was not up to scratch and the food overated, not my place of choice but friends have asked me to go there Sat night so I will see again, I hope Im not dissapointed.

They should not take so many bookings if they can't cope with the orders. They are not the best pizzas. Come to Melbourne for real Italian style pizza. the calzone is very good

im a chef at caf"e Belgiornos i havent been there long but i still have learned what the place is like,I hear all use complaining but we get so rushed and stressed out back its hard,the restaurant/kitchen isn't up with the times and we cant do anything about it coz its a heritage listed place,so when an order goes wrong its not because we dont care or cant be botherd its because where either rushed or there has been a problem with the order..at some points we kan have up to 60 orders on 1 end wich is about 100 dishes..some of these comments are old so i dont no if theres still a problem but the staff at cafe Bels invites you and is sorry for all the problems =) dion..

the food is superb, lots of variety from steak to seafood to pizzas. plenty of choices and the tastes are amazing. the best place to eat in mt gambier. also very affordable priced for everyone.

CAFE belgiorno have won a national award for pizza and its fantastic but their calzone's are to die for, its the only place I leave my warm lounge room to dine.

The food is fantastic, very tasty and I never get sick of it, the range of food to choose from is awesome.

because it is like a little bit of lygon street right here in my very own town, its has a great atmosphere, fabulous food and great friendly staff.

let me tell use guys a little about belgiono's, i used to work to there. the thing about that place is there are that many orders the meals do take longer to get to your table... the pizza oven used there can fit 7 large pizza's at any time and on a busy night, now there is over150-200 pizza's ordered in the busy period at once, each pizza taking at least 7-8 minutes to cook, now work that out its obviously not going to take 20 minutes nor 30 minutes for your meal, all i am saying is if you want to eat the food at belgiorno's on a busy night be patient, good food takes time... if not go during the week when its a little quiter, if not get a pizza from pizza haven it'll take 5 minutes, then see what pizza's are ..., stop ya complaining, have a glsss of wine or a beer and enjoy it there instead of worrying about how long ya food is taking...

hello i think its great yeh the bottles of wine are annoying the service may be ... but the food is great the borris thing is a bit rude but that culd be anyone they have the best pizza and ravioli but whats an italian restraunt without LASAGNE! crasy

I am afaid that I also have had one too many bad experiences at Cafe Belgiorno's and have now joined the ever growing group of people who will never dine there again. We booked a table for 10 and a high chair and were squeezed onto a table made for 6 people. This being the case we knew we weren't all going to be able to eat at the same time as there literally was not enough room for our plates and glasses. A very rowdy group of teenage girls (8 spread onto a table which could easily have accomodated 12??) were seated near up. After throwing food and spilling raspberry drink all over the white tablecloth, they left at which point I approached the waitress and asked if it would be ok for us to move to that table so that we had more room. She shrugged and said 'yeah if yous want'. So we all got up and moved before we realised that what she really meant was that we could move if we want but that she wasnt going to be bothered to clean or reset for us. When I complained about this, with nothing but a grunt, she lifted the table cloth off, gave it a quick shake, flipped it over and put it back on the table! Red stains and spaghetti sauce soak through! By this point I was absolutely disgusted, but with starving kids I held on for our meals which arrived with another grunt 1 hour and 45 minutes after we ordered them. We had finally started our meals when one of the men on our table needed to get up for another drink, at which point he put both hands on the table to push his chair out, and the entire round table flipped and upended all our meals and drinks on to his lap. It was nothing but a piece of chipboard balancing on a small table frame. Furious I asked to speak to the manager. After explaining about our evening, he not only refused to refund our money or provide another meal to replace the ones we'd just lost, but his parting words were 'I don't care if you're not satisfied - look around you, with this many people here, I don't need your business' So to Bel Giornos I say, yes you may have built up a great reputation, but it takes only minutes for that reputation to be ruined, and years to build it back up again.

BELGIORNO'S IS THE BEST IN MT GAMBIER it is sad to hear the above reviews. i have been a customer of caffe Belgiorno's for many years. the staff are wondeful, caring snd friendly. on the very rare occasion there is any problem with food/service, issues are resolved as long as the waitresses are notified. perhaps people need to realise that a restaurant like Bel's that is regularly full can sometimes take a little time to get the food out. in my experience people that dawdle through the ordering process are those that are disappinted in times taken. I REPEAT, BELGIORNO'S IS THE BEST RESTAURANT MOUNT GAMBIER HAS ON OFFER!!!!

First time in the Mt and got told about Belgiorno cafe. Pizzas were the best. So off myself and six friends went. Looked great nice looking rustic place. That was the end off the good news. Ordered took ages, My meal and two others wrong. Staff not interested in us. What to get drinks and the bar has so many bottles on it you are forced into a small area and no one was serving. And the big put off was a older Man sitting on the chair in the corner watching everyone. Never go there again.Maybe we should all have pizza

Was just about to book the venue for a party. I read all comments and was willing to accept the bad reviews, but the one that turned me off the most was the one from 'Borris', he sounds like a lout which supports the view of the terrible service.

great food and great location but this place is known for their terrible service. its almost comical! there is no point in complaining as they really dont seem to care about customer satisfaction.

LOVE this place!! Reason why it has the best pizza in Australia!!!

Really good food best pasta/pizza in mount gambier

I visited the lovely city of Mt Gambier for the first time this past weekend and I dined at Cafe Belgiorno with a group of approximately 10 other Adelaideans. We were looking forward to a delicious dinner but were sadly disappointed. Although the serving sizes were extremely generous, the quality and service was below par. We experienced missing mushrooms and absent olives and were presented with the wrong pasta (rigatoni and fettucine instead of penne) without any forewarning or opportunity to change our order. Only two meals were presented as the menu indicated they would be. Strangely, every meal seemed to taste of mustard...The staff were surly and impatient and their clothes were dirty with sauce spills - some of which being my pasta sauce which was spilled on the tablecloth, my serviette and the waitress! One of my more assertive friends spoke to one of the staff after our meal regarding the problem we had with the food presented, and she was met with a blank look, the excuse of an "inexperienced chef" and general lack of concern. We are all a pretty easy going bunch but we were extremely disappointed with the evening and the complete lack of concern displayed by the staff. A shane that such a lovely looking venue has nothing else going for it.
