Hungarian food is acclaimed for its wonderful flavours worldwide, and in the tradition of the classic Hungarian restaurant, our menu has an enormous range of Hungarian, European and modern fare. Of course you’ll get an amazing Goulash, but you can also look forward to dishes like Stuffed Capsicum, Eye Fillet Budapest and our famous schnitzels.
Our bar features a wonderful range of pálinkas; pure fruit brandies imported from countries including Hungary, Croatia, Montenegro and France. We stock a wide variety of European beers, local and Hungarian wines, and spirits. We also offer BYO wine. So whether you’re up for a quiet drink, or a big night out, you’ll be sure to enjoy yourself.
Our head chef, Viktor Sallay, is a native of Budapest, Hungary. He has over twenty years cooking experience in a variety of cuisines including Hungarian, Russian, Italian and Modern Australian. He was head chef at the Brighton Savoy Hotel. He then ran Melbourne’s most famous Hungarian kitchen at the Newmarket Hotel in St. Kilda which was frequently reviewed and recommended in newspapers and on the radio. Now, together with his partner, David Buchler, he aims to bring to Melbourne an authentic Hungarian menu in a warm, casual and friendly environment.

I would like to introduce a famous restaurant in Budapest, Hungary. Café Miró Grande, the most elegant resturant and event venue of Budapest. It's located in the heart of Budapest at 9. Liszt Ferenc Square. Hosts were friendly in a great romantic atmosphere. This is traditional Hungarian cuisine. Wine selection is mostly Hungarian wines. My favourite wine is Tokaji in this restaurant. Main dishes are fantastic! I always eat Buttery veal roast or Paprika chicken with egg-dumpling souffle. And prices are ordaniry, not expensive. I tell all my friends to go and eat there if they are going to Budapest. You can read more information in Café Miró Grande's website http://www.cafemiro.hu/grande/ Best Regards,
love the food, love the atmosphere and the service is always friendly and warm.
We loved this place. Had a great buzz and we had the most awesome schnitzels and goulash. Our friend also had one of the best steaks he's ever tried which was surprising at a Hungarian restaurant. Selection of Euro beers was great and staff were really friendly.
We had dinner there last night. After the waiter spilled beer over me and offered very little in terms of pardon - or even a free beer. The meals were reasonable but nothing to write home about. And this is very over priced, your looking at $40 for a main and 2 drinks! ouch! I would not recommend this place!
