Betty Blue Bistro

It appears that the feedback I'm going to give is no different to those that have commented before. I felt compelled to seek out a review site in attempt to warn others. Poor and slow service; unhelpful staff; long waiting times ..... To be service an over priced and below average quality meal.

Well what can i say, we reserved a table earlier in the day for 7pm and arrived at 655pm, the table wasnt ready so we were plonked on a table that was not set up next to the waiting line. The waitress who had a face like thunder threw us the menus then asked it we wanted the wine list, which she then also threw at us. We ordered 2 garlic breads a brusheta was coming and left to get us some side plates for entrees, the garlic bread arrived and we still had only one set of cutlery and a single side plate on the table and the waitress told us the brusheta was coming and left to get us some side plates, she then served 2 more tables and finaly brought us the side plates, after about 10 minutes the brusheta arrived. We then waited for our mains 2 x scotch fillets, 1 x king prawn spagetti and 1 x chicken with rice dish, after watching several tables that came in after us get serve thier mains before us, our dishes eventually arrive after about 1 hour. The steaks were delivered, but we got no steak knives and I was left with the knife I used to cut the garlic bread, I asked the waitress who sat us for a steak knife and was given a normal knife which would not have cut paper, I had to resort to going to the counter and asking the same waitress for another knife - one that would cut meat, After grudingly saying she would get one she went off to the kitchen where instead of getting me a knife she proceeded to take more tables food out to the tables. She then walked past me 2 more times on her way back to the kitchen, I then spoke to one of the other waitress and asked to speak with the manager, she appologised and asked me the problem and as the manager was busy told me she would let her know, this waitress has worked there for a while and I trusted that she would let the Manager know my concerns, she then got me 2 steak knifes for our table. The mains were of average quality I have had a lot better meals here, except for my wifes chicken which she discribed as carboard. We the went to pay the bill and the Manager was behind the counter, we were not asked if we enjoyed our meal at all and I think she was waiting for us to thank her. We have beeing going to this resturant for over 10 years and it is normally fine with friendly waitstaff, however last night was the pits, The waitress in our section obviously didnt want to be there and spent a great deal of time talking to her mates, we were treated as a inconvienance even though we had booked and other that the waitress who appologise and tried to assist us the staff should not be working front of house.

Its so dissapointing such a pleasent location and afine food experence can be wrecked by a table supervisors childish attitude when asked to lower a transparent blind to sheild our table from a cold breeze blowing.

We went there for dinner last Tuesday, it was busy that night. we ordered our meal then we wait for1 hour until we got it, everyone was so hungry and upset. be honest the service wasn't good enough cos only 2 waitress for nearly full house and we can tell they are short of staff, the most tables are full of empty glasses and dishes and they didn't get time to clean it. I've done the waitress before so i can understand that so we don't blame them, it's just pitty with good food but poor service.

Over an hour wait for a mains, our server started to avoid us as tables that ordered after us received their meals first. Got half our meals and the rest 5 minutes later, and got the wrong ones at that. What a disappointment, after hoping for a nice birthday meal we ended up leaving disappointed and having to argue over the bill.

Always great, beautiful location, friendly staff & consistantly fine food

The food was fantastic.... unfortunately the service was a nightmare. We had booked a table for 6:30 pm, arrived and we promptly shown to our table and ignored for 25 minutes until we were finally given the menus. Fifteen minutes later our server arrived to take our drink and meal order. Our starter arrived in a timely fashion about 10 minutes in along with water - our wine we had ordered did not. Our meals came about 45 minutes after the entrees and 15 minutes into the meal our wine still had not appearred. We went up to the bar and asked about it and were told it would be right there. Needless to say it never arrived, nor was the water refilled until asked at the very end of the meal. No apoligies were ever offered. When asked the charge for the wine we didn't recieve be removed... we were simply told "okay". It was quite a disappointment to such wonderful food.

They always have the best freshest food from their daily specials to their fish and chips. Located on the foreshore 100m from the water, gives a perfect relaxed environment. If your lucky you will even see dolphins whilst you enjoy your meal, we have many times!

My wife and I went to Betty Blue Bistro last week on a Saturday night. I still can't get over the quality of the location, on the absolute beach front! The view is amazing. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and sat near the front of the restaurant. We ordered the warm spiced chicken and cous cous salad for our entree which was great. one of the mains specials was a kangaroo fillet wellington which I had and it was cooked medium rare with a nice jus. My wife had the crispy skin barramundi with caper burre blanc which she loved. We finished with the dessert special which was strawberries with malibu white chocolate sauce and coconut crumble. Amazing! We would both reccomend this restaurant and enjoy the view.

Will have to check it out as i live down in rocko!

The food here is really, surprisingly, very good. I say surprising because of its location - you just don't expect to find really good food in Rockingham - don't get me wront - I'm not trying to be elitist - I do live in the area - its just that normally - when we want good food we tavel 40 minute up to the city. The Barramundi with beurre blanc - gorgeous. The muscels in pernod - delicious. Calamari very tasty. I
