About the Eat Out Guide

The I Love FOOD Awards are Australia's largest peoples' choice restaurant awards.Voting in the 2010 I Love FOOD Awards opens on July 14 and closes on August 31 so make sure you nominate your favourite eat-out and go into the draw to win $10,000 cash!

Your votes created Australia's largest member voted online EAT OUT GUIDE. It is a guide like no other because the places are tried and tested by fellow food lovers.

Australia's favourite places to eat out were varied and represented the length and breadth of the country. The overall 2009 winner was Zushi in Sydney's Darlinghurst, home to some seriously good spider rolls and sushi. Other national winners included Max's at Red Hill Estate on the Mornington Peninsula and Jus Burgers in Leederville for a great burger. Almond Bar was given a nod for their authentic Middle Eastern mezze in Sydney; delicious seafood at Lagoon in Wollongong; the popular Taco Bill in South Melbourne; tasty vegetarian at Simply Foods in Darwin; and for coffee devotees it was Campos in Newtown and Campos Coffee in Fortitude Valley.

The list of the 2009 winners is featured to the left. You can also search by state to find the winners in each category that are closest to you. The list is a great mix of established and award-winning restaurants along with some undiscovered gems as voted by passionate locals supporting their favourite places to eat out.

Members can add restaurants to the "Must try" area in their profile as they browse through the guide and use it as a reference next time they are looking for somewhere new to try and even add it to their "Favourites" list to share their picks with other friends and members.

So now it's up to you explore some new places and cuisines or even revisit some old favourites and enjoy some of Australia's favourite places to eat out. Don't forget to jump online, rate your experience and tell your fellow members what you thought, or even what dish they simply must try when they go.
