Slow Cooker Corned Beef

Easy recipe for beautiful traditional style corned beef.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 - 2kg piece of corned beef
  • 1 cup of cider vinegar
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 onion, peeled and quartered
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 10 cloves
  • 10 peppercorns
  • Boiling water

Method

  1. In your slow cooker pot, mix all ingredients except the onion, beef and water.
  2. Place corned beef into pot, add onion and top with boiling water to just cover the beef.
  3. Cook on high in the slow cooker for 3 hours, reducing the heat to low for another 5.5 hours.
  4. Serve sliced with white sauce and steamed veggies.
