Rice Crispie And Sweetie Cakes

This fun treat is great for kids who will enjoy making them as much as eating them. Make them your own by using your favourite chocolate bars.

Ingredients

For the cake

  • 300g/ 10oz milk chocolate, melted
  • 150g/ 5oz butter, melted
  • 200g/ 8oz chocolate loaf/ginger loaf cake
  • 60g/ 3oz Rice Crispies
  • 225g/ 7oz selection of sweets to include Aero bar, (such as Crunchie bars, Twix, Marshmallows, Kit Kat, Maltesers etc, well chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Golden syrup

To serve

  • 150g/ 5oz chocolate, melted chocolate, melted
  • Selection of hundreds and thousands or silver and gold edible balls

Method

  1. Line a cake tray with paper cases.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate and butter into a large bowl and then crumble in the chocolate cake and loaf cake. Follow with the rice crispies and sweetie selection.
  3. Mix thoroughly and fill paper cases. Place in the fridge and allow to set for two hours.
  4. To serve, dip cakes into the warm chocolate followed by the hundreds and thousands or edible balls if using.
