Date, Cinnamon and Orange Scones Served With Honey Cream

A delicious treat that you must try at home.
1 cup dates chopped
Zest of 2 oranges
Juice of 2 oranges
4 cups self-raising flour
¼ cup sugar
1 can lemonade
½ tsp salt
2 Tbsp Honey

Place the chopped dates, cinnamon stick, sugar and zest and juice or oranges into a pot, melt and cook until it caramelises.
Mix all the remaining ingredients into a smooth dough in a bowl (except for the honey and cream).
Tip out onto floured bench and cut out or shape
Place scones just touching each other on tray. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Bake at 220 degrees for 15-20 mins until starting to colour pale golden.
Place on a teatowel on a wire rack.
Combine honey and cream in one bowl
Put mascarpone in another bowl
Gradually whisk honey mixture into the mascarpone.
Whisk until soft peaks form.
