Chocolate Champorado

Chocolate Champorado

Champorado is a comfort food. Its definition is similar to a congee. We usually serve this dish whenever rainy season approach. I still make this dish until now and it's best serve with hot pandesal or any bread or you can also serve it with bulad a native term for salted fish. This dish can be the main course since it is rice.

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of malagkit rice or any rice of your choice
  • 3 cups of water
  • 4 small discs cacao or cocoa
  • or 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
  • powdered milk -optional

Method

  1. Place the water in a deep pan and bring it in to a boil. Was the rice thoroughly and put it in the boiling water. Cook for 15 mins or until the rice becomes really soft. Then add the cocoa powder or the cocoa discs wait for it to thicken and serve it with sugar to taste. The powder milk can be the condiment ot this dish so that you can have that milk chocolate taste.
