Chop onion and garlic together.
Pre-heat your frying pan then lightly dry toast the spices in hot pan with no oil, add a splash of oil and fry the onions and garlic till slightly browned.
Pour in the can of beans and mash to your required texture as they heat up (if you like it really smooth then use a Bamix).
Top with coriander leaves and serve, this is sensational served with warm roti.
