Cornish'ish Pastie


  • 300g lamb leg, diced

  • 1 brown onion, diced

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 1 stick of celery, diced

  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup of chopped parsley

  • 3 sheets pastry (your choice of puff or shortcrust)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • salt

  • 2 tbsp cracked pepper


  • 1.

    Dice onion, potato, celery and lamb into cubes of approx 1cm.

  • 2.

    In a large bowl combine the lamb, onions, potatoes, celery, garlic, parsley and mix well.

  • 3.

    Cut pastry in half and fill with mix, sealing the edges with egg wash, form into a pastie shape. Also baste the surface of the pastie with egg wash and bake at 200C for 45 minutes.
