  • 1.

    Bring water to boil.

  • 2.

    Add star anise, cardamom, kaffir lime leaves.

  • 3.

    Add coconut cream, bring to boil.

  • 4.

    Add black rice, simmer gently while stirring every few minutes.

  • 5.

    After about twenty minutes the rice should be cooked .

  • 6.

    Add the condensed milk and palm sugar.

  • 7.

    Cut banana and arrange in bowls, top with rice, condensed milk and mint.

  • 8.

    Serve.

if you used palm sugar only, would that make a huge difference to the taste, the thought of using condensed milk and palm sugar is a huge sugar hit
