A CHEESY CHICKEN PIE - FAMILY RECIE

Serves 4

Ingredients

Method

  1. PRE HEAT OVEN TO 210C
  2. HEAT BUTTER IN A PAN AND ADD CHOPPED CHICKEN BREAST
  3. ADD THE ONION AND COOK TILL BROWNED AND ONION IS OPAQUE
  4. ADD STOCK AND REDUCE TO APPX 1/4 UP
  5. ADD THE CHEESES AND COMBINE
  6. ADD THE POWDERS
  7. ADD CHIVES AND SALT AND PEPPER
  8. COOL THE MIX
  9. GREASE 4 PIE PANS OR 1 LARGE
  10. CUT THE BOTTOMS AND THE LIDS
  11. FILL THE PIES WITH THE COOLED FILLING
  12. BRUSH AROUND THE EDGE WITH WATER AND PLACE TOP ON
  13. PINCH OR FORK THE EDGE OF THE PIES
  14. BRUSH WITH MILK WASH
  15. SPRINKLE WITH POPPY SEEDS
  16. BAKE FOR 30 MINS
  17. SERVE

    I have just made this pie and I have to say it is beautiful, I love Camembert cheese and this pie is awesome, only things i did differently was to salt and pepper the chicken before cooking it and also instead of using pastry as the pie top i used mashed potato. 2 of my fav foods made into one indulgent pie :) very nice for a treat

    i love the fact i live in tassie and i can pop down to the local bakery and buy one! but i think i might try and make this one!

    i first had it in tassie too, in a pie shop in the main mall in hobart, id never seen them again so i had to come up with one x

    Had this pie in Tasmania and looked everywhere for a recipe. Found it here and am cooking it tonight.

    I made this pie tonight (I made a large pie), it is definately for the cheese lover. A very rich pie, I served with a chopped salad as you needed something light to go with it. I also blind baked the base of the pie for 12 mins in 210C oven. The pie turned out perfect but just a bit rich for our tastes.
