Recipe by Oz Clarke
1 bottle of red wine
4 tbs muscovado sugar
300ml ginger wine
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 cinnamon stick
pinch of nutmeg
large pinch of cayenne pepper
Mix all the ingredients in a large saucepan and let the wine mull until just near boiling. Do not let the wine boil as the alcohol will evaporate.
Semillon, Pinot Gris and Dessert Wines are the best wines to pair with Mulled Wine.
