Swiss Fladder

This is a sweet that has a pastry base. Apples or apricots can be
used. Custard is also in the pie.


  • one square piece of puff pastry

  • crushed cornflakes onto pastry base

  • apples cut finely and laid out -a little overlapping

  • cream - 150 grams

  • milk- 50mls

  • plain flour - heaped desertspoon per fladder

  • sugar - 2 tablespoons per fladder

  • eggs -1 large


  • 1.

    Using a greased round pie tin, place pastry into tin.

  • 2.

    Cut edges.

  • 3.

    Crush cornflakes onto base on top of pastry

  • 4.

    Peel and then cut apple into thin slices

  • 5.

    Place apple on base slightly overlapping.

  • 6.

    Make custard by mixing egg, cream, milk, sugar and flour with mixer.

  • 7.

    Pour custard mixture over apple.

  • 8.

    Bake in moderate oven until pastry is golden brown.

  • 9.

    Slice and serve


Canned apricots can be used instead of apples.
