Beans with garlic & bacon

I made this one up to get my young son to eat beans. He started eating this one at about 15 months of age. It's great for kids and adults alike.

  • beans - whatever quantity suits

  • garlic - 1, 2, 3 cloves, dependant upon beans

  • butter

  • bacon - 2 - 3 rashers - finely diced

  • cream

  • heat butter in saucepan, add bacon and fry on moderate heat for approx 5 mins. add garlic and soften. add beans and fry off for approx 8 minutes, add 300ml - 600ml of cream, bring to boil and reduce to simmer. check seasoning and add salt & pepper to taste, not too much as flavours will intensify.

  • simmer for approx 15 mins - to thicken cream sauce and soften beans. once cream has reduced turn off heat and leave for 5 mins.

  • serve with roast pork or beef.

  • scrummy and decadent
