I made this one up to get my young son to eat beans. He started eating this one at about 15 months of age. It's great for kids and adults alike.
Beans - whatever quantity suits
Garlic - 1, 2, 3 cloves, dependant upon beans
Bacon - 2 - 3 rashers - finely diced
Heat butter in saucepan, add bacon and fry on moderate heat for approx 5 mins. Add garlic and soften. Add beans and fry off for approx 8 minutes, add 300ml - 600ml of cream, bring to boil and reduce to simmer. Check seasoning and add salt & pepper to taste, not too much as flavours will intensify.
Simmer for approx 15 mins - to thicken cream sauce and soften beans. Once cream has reduced turn off heat and leave for 5 mins.
Serve with Roast Pork or Beef.
Scrummy and decadent
Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache are the best wines to pair with Beans with garlic & bacon.
