Cheesy Cob

Great for a party. You just break off the bread and dip to your heart's content.

Serves 4

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cut the top of the cob loaf and pull out the inside bread, leaving an empty “bowl”. Break the inside bread into chunks for dipping.
  2. Heat some oil in a frypan and cook the bacon and onion. In a separate bowl mix together the rest of the ingredients. Add the bacon mixture to the cheese mixture and mix well.
  3. Pour the mixture into the cob loaf, put the lid on and cook in an oven at 180.C for 40 mins to an hour. If the top is browning to fast loosely cover with foil. Once the bread is crispy and the mix is well heated it is ready. Toast the bread pieces in the oven for 20 minutes.
  4. Dip the bread pieces into the dip and enjoy!
  5. To speed it up a bit you can heat the mixture in a saucepan once it has all been mixed and then put it in the bread, then cook for about 20 minutes, till the bread is crispy.
