Low Fat Brownies


Low Fat Brownies

Moist and gooey low fat brownies for an almost guilt-free chocolate moment

Serves 16

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of apple sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of bailey's irish whiskey (optional but gives it a bit more kick)
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
  2. Mix together the dry ingredients in a large bowl
  3. Mix eggs, vanilla extract, Bailey's, apple sauce and oil together in another bowl and add to the dry ingredients. Fold until well combined.
  4. Pour batter into greased 20 cm square pan (or lined with baking paper).
  5. Bake for 25-30 min. Test with tooth pick (best when centre is still gooey).
  6. Can serve warm with low fat vanilla ice-cream with extra Bailey's poured on top. Yum.
