Milk Tart

Milk Tart is a very traditional South African dessert. It's sweet with a soft filling. Perfect with a Cuppa.



  • 1.

    Preheat oven to 180C.

  • 3.

    Cream margarine and sugar, add egg and cut into flour with knife.

  • 4.

    Press thinly into a 24cm pyrex pie dish.

  • 5.

    Bake for 15-20min

  • 6.

    Boil together milk and margarine.

  • 8.

    Beat together sugar, flour, cornflour and eggs.

  • 9.

    Add to milk mixture and cook slowlly till thickened.

  • 10.

    Add vanilla and pour into baked tart shell.

  • 11.

    Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.

  • 12.

    Bake for 40min or untill cooked
