Spaghetti With Tuna Sauce


Spaghetti With Tuna Sauce

Sauce delicious served with potato or ricotta/parmesan gnocchi.

Quick & easy to put on - sauce freezes well - great family meal & surprisingly tasty.

Serves 2 to 4

Ingredients

  • 400g tinned whole tomatoes
  • 1 tspn sugar
  • 1/2 tspn salt
  • 1 tblspn minced garlic
  • 425 g tuna, drained well
  • 2 tblspns olive oil
  • 6 basil leaves, torn
  • Freshly grated parmesan for servin

Method

  1. Place tomatoes into a small saucepan, add the salt, sugar & garlic. Do not stir, crush or do anything, just place lid on.
  2. Set cook top on lowest possible setting and leave for 30 mins.
  3. Take off lid, use a masher & squish, add the tuna, mix around and put lid back on for 15 mins.
  4. Cook pasta according to insructions. When cooked, drain.
  5. Take tomato tuna mix off heat, pour in the olive oil & basil.
  6. Dress the drained spaghetti with tuna sauce, sprinkle with the parmesan.
