Childhood favourite, lovely crunchy chocolate biscuit, simple to make.

Serves 1215

Ingredients

  • 200gr butter
  • 75gr castor sugar
  • 125gr plain flour
  • 25gr cocoa
  • 50gr cornflakes
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar and walnuts to decorate

Method

  1. Soften butter, add sugar and beat to a creamy texture, add sifted flour, cocoa and lastly add the cornflakes.
  2. Put spoonfuls on a greased oven tray and bake for about 15 minutes at 180C.
  3. Cool completely on cooling rack.
  4. Ice with chocolate icing and put a walnut on top of icing.
  5. Chocolate Icing
  6. Sift together 1/2 cup icing sugar and about a tablespoon of cocoa add a small amount of water (about a tsp at a time) mix until smooth. Do not add to much water as the icing should not be to runny

Notes & Tips

Keeps well in airtight tin, great with a glass of milk or cup of tea.
