Tomato Chutney


  • 3 tbsp oil

  • ½ tsp black mustard seeds

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • 2” cinnamon stick

  • 1tsp chilli flakes

  • ½ tsp turmeric

  • 1lb tomatoes, skinned, seeded and sliced

  • 75g white sugar

  • 75g raisins

  • Salt to season


  • 1.

    Heat the oil, add mustard seeds and heat until crackling. Then add the cumin and cinnamon, cook for 2 minutes and then add chilli and turmeric. Add the tomatoes, stir well and cook for 10 minutes. Finally add the sugar, raisins and salt. Cook to desired thickness and leave to cool.
