Boozy Scottish Mocha


Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 400ml/14fl oz milk
  • 50g/2oz 70% dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 50ml/2fl oz strong coffee
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 30ml/1fl oz scotch whisky
  • 1 orange, zest only
  • 100ml/3½fl oz double cream, whipped (to float)

Method

  1. Place the milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Add the chocolate, coffee and cinnamon to the milk, whisking constantly.
  3. Add the vanilla and whisky, you can add sugar to taste at this point.
  4. Place a couple of strips of orange zest in bottom of a glass.
  5. Pour hot drink mixture into serving glasses over the orange zest and top with whipped cream.
