Baked Bean Tart

You can make this in five minutes flat, and it's much tastier than beans on toast.


  • 1 sheet of puffed pastry, pricked and baked flat

  • 1 tin baked beans

  • 1 tin anchovies

  • Few sprigs thyme, chopped

  • Few sprigs rosemary, chopped

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 clove garlic chopped

  • Good pitted olives

  • Fresh basil

  • Anchovy fillets


  • 1.

    Blend together the baked beans, anchovies, thyme and rosemary. Spread onto the puff pastry. Heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic together. Scatter on top and garnish with anchovies and olives.

  • 2.

    Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes.

  • 3.

    Finish with basil and a drizzle of olive oil.
