Hot Cheesy Filo Pastry Parcels

Make this flaky cheese pastry from just four ingredients. Serve it with a large salad or summer vegetables to make a fantastic meal for friends.


  • Camembert and cranberry filling

    Take out a sheet of filo pastry and brush on both sides with melted butter. Fold the sheet in half and place piece of Camembert in the centre, top with ½ teaspoon of cranberry sauce and sprinkle with paprika. Bring all the corners together to create a purse shape. Pinch and twist the pastry ends together, to seal the parcel.

    Refrigerate for 2 hours before cooking, to set the butter which in turn helps to keep the shape whilst cooking. Plunge the parcels into hot deep fat and fry until crisp and golden about 3 minutes. Allow to drain and serve immediately with a rocket salad.
